New studies are showing a benefit to larger dog’s hip and joint development to wait to neuter and spay until they are close to two years old.  I suspect that some vets will hesitate telling people this for fear that they will not be responsible but I strongly recommend it and am confident that by the time my customers take a pup home that they are well educated and very prepared to watch their girls in heat and their boys around intact girls. Further, my health guarantee in hips is only valid if spay and neuter is delayed until the pup is over 20 months old.
